The vast number of responders to this review have bought into a definition of art, and are so yanked by the chains of the culture that taught them that definition, they are mystified as to how anyone could not love this movie. Bottom line, The acting was mostly great, the production was top notch, the tone was vivid. but the story and the characters were two dimensional. This was like a story written by a high schooler with anger issues, a love for basketball and a deadline for an important story in Fictional Literature class. This is the movie youre supposed to love because its raw and “real” and hard to watch. but anyone with half a brain couldve written this tripe.

As a hard of hearing person, using a captioning device this thing was a nightmare. It was very hard to follow the film, and because of that I felt there was very little character development. Glad I only spent 5 on this. I wish I could get my 2+hours back. Avoid. Great movie. Good lesson on karma reaching unlikeable people. Still had plenty of moments to laugh, but I didn't hear many other laughs coming from the rest of the audience. It may help to know about the NBA especially in 2012 but it was well worth the money. Family in front of me left about an hour into movie presumably because there is rampant profanity but to each their own. 8/10. Yall better go support this movie! A24 out here reviving cinema and it's not for once a Disney film that's coming out.
